'Carey Morning' (Leather Jacket) © 1989/2025
A song that was first recorded to audio tape in 1989 after the death of a close friend who was musician, it was recorded as a raw acoustic/drum idea with lyrics but never finished. Like many song ideas I leave aside for another day, this one lay for thirty six years. I started out to recreate it but somewhere along the creative path it took a radical turn away from that in genre and also the use, (some will say overuse) of effects but having said that it retains the essence and sentiment of the original song. I love my old analogue synth sounds, the more I use them, the more I love them. The video was in part Ai generated, mixed with my own footage and photographs.
